Derek has been diving for 34 years and teaching for 25+ years and loves to share experiences. It not uncommon to find him teaching anything from beginners to profressionals.

Course Director Kevin Davenport

Anyone who has worked with Kevin learns that skills & drills are the basis of any task. Kevin brings 25+ years of teaching experience. He is just as happy taking a class as he is teaching one. He blieves we can never stop.

Instructors Jenie Hartog, Scott Carpenter, & Austin Davenport

Jenie started as a student in 2016 and couldn't get enough of it. She quickly feel in LOVE with the life. She not only instructs, but you can typically see her beautiful managing the shop.

Scott has been around since the inception of Anchors Away. With 10 years of experience, he can be found leading dives, teaching students, wiring compressors, moving walls, or anything else behind the scene making the magic happen.

Austin grew up with a regulator in his mouth. With over 17 years of experience, he is a wealth of information. The USAF keeps him busy, but he gets wet when he can.

Wanda (luck girl) learned to dive in Hawaii and cut her teeth on tourist.

Free Diving Instructor Teodora Luna

Teodora Luna is our newest instructor and addition to the team. She is known for her passion for teaching others to be comfortable and remain calm underwater.

Luna began scuba diving in 2012. Six years later, on a trip to Iceland, she discovered freediving and immediately fell in love with the one sport that challenged her physically and mentally. With so many disciplines and opportunities, she continues to discover more of the underwater world through photography, modeling and instructing.

Luna knew she wanted to share her passion for freediving, so she dedicated herself to training, eventually earning her instructor certifications. She continues to learn from some of the best teams in the industry, such as the safety team from the Vertical Blue competition, the MARVEL Aquatic Action Team, and elite freediver athletes.

Luna is excited to share her passion for freediving and looks forward to being part of the Anchors Away team

Defective items may be returned within 60 days for store credit or exchanged.

Dissatisfied items may be returned within 60 days for store credit only.

Special order items are non-refundable.

Certifications – eLearning or academic materials are non-refundable. Course fees are non-refundable once you have been scheduled with an instructor, whether you attend or not, or if you fail to pass a certification requirement. Reschedule fees will apply for missed classes.

Travel/Events/Charters - Travel fees are non-refundable; we recommend all travelers have insurance to cover any issues which may arise. Event fees may be refunded in the form of store credit only when the event is changed or canceled by the store. Weather cancelations canceled by the vendor will be refunded.

Serviced Items: Services on items are non-refundable.
